2013 in Film

2013 in Film

2013 looks to be a good year for films, but to be completely honest, it pales in comparison to 2012. This year had several heavy hitters like TDKR, Avengers, The Hobbit, and Skyfall for example. Right now I'm going to run down my most anticipated films of 2013.

Iron Man 3

This is my most anticipated film of the year. I am very confident this film will be great. C'mon, Robert Downey Jr. vs. Ben Kingsley as The Mandarin is going to be BADASS. While Jon Favreau isn't helming this one, I have faith in Shane Black due to his track record that he is going to bring his A-game.

Man of Steel

This one I feel is a close second. DC can't afford to screw this one up after the atrocity that was "Superman Returns". From the teaser trailer, I'm liking the tone of the movie, and I think Henry Cavil as Superman is perfect casting. He has the look of Superman. I also have to mention this movie has an excellent cast. Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Russel Crowe, and Kevin Costner? Talk about a really great cast. And Chris Nolan is producing it. That's a plus.

The Hobbit: There and Back Again

It's the second part to the freaking Hobbit. A movie I'm greatly anticipating it. Does it really need explanation?
I am worried about the whole 48ps thing. And now they're making film into 3 parts. Why? Just Why?

Elysium

I thought Neil Blomkamp's film, District 9 was an outstanding film. He's doing another sci-fi so this is pretty much guaranteed to be good. The plot sounds very intresting, and there good actors that are in the film. Can't wait to see this one.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire

I'm only anticipating the film for the sheer fact that I really, really enjoyed the first movie. The writing was brilliant, and Jenifer Lawrence's performance as Katniss was great.

So those are my most anticipated films of the year. Yeah some movies are missing. Let me explain.

First, Thor: The Dark World. I will see this movie when it comes out, but, I thought Thor was merely ok. It didnt leave me wanting for a second one. Oh, and by the way, I'm stoked for this and Iron Man 3's post credits scene.

The Wolverine; To be honest, I don't if I will even see this. I am cautious for obvious reasons, mainly because Xmen Origins Wolverine wasn't very good. And the second reason is that I just dont care. Wolverine dosen't deserve another movie in my opinion.

  1. I think the wolverine can be pretty good and I also hope it doesn't just focus on his time in Japan maybe 10-20 minutes in another location.
